Finding agent orders in WooCommerce: attribution, reports and webhooks Free & Pro
How to tell which orders came through a personal agent: the order list, the order screen, WooCommerce Analytics, the Agents screen, and Pro's insights and webhooks.
Updated October 12, 2026
Every order placed through an agent’s checkout link is marked as such in WooCommerce’s own order attribution, so you can find agent orders with the tools you already use. This guide shows where to look, from a single order up to a report, and what Pro adds.
How an order gets marked
When an agent hands a cart to the customer, the checkout link carries three standard UTM values: utm_source is the agent’s published name, utm_medium is personal_agent, and utm_campaign is agent-adapt. WooCommerce’s order attribution reads them in the customer’s browser and saves them with the order, as it does for any campaign link.
If the customer’s browser did not run WooCommerce’s attribution script (a blocker, or JavaScript off) and the order would otherwise have no origin, Agent Adapt records the same three values itself when the order is created. A developer can turn that fallback off with the agentadapt_attribution_fallback filter. Either way, an order’s attribution is written once and never changed afterwards.
Orders a customer places on their own, after an agent’s visit but without a checkout link, are not marked. The mark means "this cart came from an agent", nothing broader.
On one order
Open the order. The Origin box in the sidebar shows the source as the agent’s name, with the medium personal_agent. Hover or expand it for the full set of values. Agent Adapt also adds its own order meta recording which agent and which visit the order came from, and a note on the order naming the agent.
In the order list
WooCommerce → Orders has an Origin column (switch it on under Screen Options if it is hidden). Agent orders show the agent’s name there. Sorting or scanning that column is the quickest way to eyeball a day’s agent orders.
In Analytics
Recent WooCommerce versions include an order attribution report in Analytics, grouping orders and revenue by source and medium; its place in the menu has moved between releases, so look for Attribution there. Agent orders have the medium personal_agent, and each agent appears as its own source, so you can compare them. Because these are WooCommerce’s own reports, they respect your date ranges, refunds and status filters exactly as for any other channel.
On the Agents screen
WooCommerce → Agents shows, per agent, the number of visits and the number of orders over the last 30 days. It is a count, not a report; it tells you which agents are active and which are producing orders.
With Pro: Agent insights
WooCommerce → Agent insights turns the events Agent Adapt already records into a funnel: sessions, product views, carts, checkout links, orders and net revenue per agent, over 7, 30 or 90 days. It also shows abandoned agent carts and where they stopped (never handed over, handed over but never opened, opened but no order), the top products agents viewed and carted, and the requests your store refused, which is where you see what agents wanted that your settings did not allow. Two CSV downloads give you the by-agent table and every event. See Agent insights.
Net revenue there is order totals minus refunds, excluding pending, failed and cancelled orders, and the web figures beside them are counted the same way, so the comparison is fair.
With Pro: webhooks
To send agent orders somewhere else as they happen, add a WooCommerce webhook with the topic Agent: order placed. The payload carries the agent’s client ID and name, the session, the customer ID when signed in, and the order’s ID, number, status, total and currency. It is signed, queued and retried like any WooCommerce webhook. Other topics cover checkout links, sign-ins, sessions and finished operations. See Agent webhooks.
Common questions
Why does an order from an agent show no origin?
Three usual causes: WooCommerce’s order attribution is switched off under WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → Features; the order was placed by the customer without a checkout link; or the fallback was disabled with the filter and the customer’s browser blocked the attribution script.
Can I see agent orders in my accounting or email tools?
Yes, through WooCommerce’s own integrations, since the order carries standard attribution meta. With Pro, the Agent: order placed webhook sends each one to any URL as it happens.
Does an agent order look different at checkout or in emails?
No. It is an ordinary order, paid by the customer on your checkout. Only the attribution and the order note say an agent was involved.
How far back do insights go?
Agent events are kept for 90 days, so Pro’s insights cover up to 90 days. WooCommerce’s own attribution on the order is permanent.
