FAQ
Can an agent spend a customer’s money?
No. The customer always pays on your own checkout page. Agent Adapt never sees or handles card details.
Can an agent see customer data without permission?
No. Without the customer’s approval, an agent sees only what any visitor sees. Account data needs the customer’s approval on your store, and they can withdraw it at any time from My Account → Connected agents.
How do I stop a particular agent?
Block it under WooCommerce → Agents. It’s refused from its next request, and it can’t start new visits until you unblock it.
Can a staff account be connected to an agent?
No. Only customer and subscriber accounts can be connected. An account that later gains store-management capabilities stops working with agents straight away.
Does it need WooCommerce?
Yes, WooCommerce 10.0 or newer. Until WooCommerce is active, Agent Adapt does nothing except show a notice in your dashboard.
Does it work with the block checkout and HPOS?
Yes. Agent Adapt works with both the block and classic cart and checkout, and with WooCommerce’s high-performance order storage.
Does it work with page caching and CDNs?
Yes, as long as /.well-known/ and /agent-adapt/ aren’t cached or blocked. Site Health tells you if they are.
Do I need to register with anyone, or get API keys?
No. Agents identify themselves with keys they publish, and your store checks them. There’s nothing to register.
Is Agent Adapt endorsed by the protocol’s authors?
No. Agent Adapt implements the Personal Agent Protocol’s published draft (0.1) and follows it as it changes. No conformance programme exists yet. Agent Adapt is independent and isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by the protocol’s authors.
