Site Health checks Free

The six checks Agent Adapt adds to Tools → Site Health, what each one tests, and how to fix a check that fails.

Agent Adapt adds six checks to Tools → Site Health, each marked Agent Adapt. A passing check lists under Passed tests. A failing check shows what is wrong and how to fix it.

Your store is served over HTTPS

Personal agents only talk to stores over HTTPS. If this fails, install a TLS certificate (most hosts offer a free one) and change the WordPress Address and Site Address under Settings → General to start with https://.

WordPress answers at the root of your domain

Agents look for /.well-known/poppy.json at the root of your domain. If WordPress is installed in a folder, such as example.com/shop/, that request never reaches it. Add a redirect for that path on your web server or CDN, pointing at the same path under your WordPress folder.

Pretty permalinks are on

The protocol’s addresses are paths that aren’t files, so WordPress has to receive them. Under Settings → Permalinks, choose any setting other than Plain.

Your discovery documents answer

Every agent fetches poppy.json and your OAuth server metadata before anything else. This check fetches both from your store’s public address and makes sure they answer correctly. If it fails, a page cache, CDN or security plugin is usually intercepting the request. Exclude /.well-known/ and /agent-adapt/ from caching and blocking rules. See Caches, CDNs and security plugins.

The Authorization header reaches WordPress

Agents send their access token in the Authorization header, and some hosts strip it before PHP sees it. If this fails, add this line to your .htaccess file, above the WordPress rules:

RewriteRule .* - [E=HTTP_AUTHORIZATION:%{HTTP:Authorization}]

If you can’t edit .htaccess, ask your host to pass the Authorization header to PHP.

Your store is open to personal agents’ browsers

This one is a recommendation, not a fault. While WooCommerce’s Coming soon mode is on, an agent that opens your website in a browser sees only the coming-soon page, like any other visitor. Search, product details and the cart still work through the agent API. Launch your store from WooCommerce → Settings → Site visibility when you’re ready.
