How agent orders reach your checkout Free
How an agent hands its cart to the customer, how long the checkout link lasts, and how agent orders show in WooCommerce's order attribution.
Updated October 12, 2026
Agents build carts, but they don’t pay. When the cart is ready, the agent asks your store for a checkout link and gives it to the customer.
The checkout link
- The link opens your store in the customer’s own browser, moves the cart into their visit, and takes them to your checkout.
- It works once and lasts 30 minutes. After that, the customer sees This checkout link has expired or was already used. Ask your assistant for a new one.
- The customer pays on your checkout, with your payment methods, exactly like any other order. Your checkout fields, shipping rules and payment plugins all work as usual, including the block checkout.
Seeing where the order came from
Orders placed through a checkout link record the agent in WooCommerce’s own order attribution. On the order screen, the Origin box shows the agent’s name as the source, with the medium personal_agent and the campaign agent-adapt. The same values appear in WooCommerce’s attribution reports and the order list’s Origin column.
WooCommerce → Agents also counts each agent’s orders over the last 30 days. With Pro, WooCommerce → Agent insights shows the full picture: see Agent insights.
When the agent has its own browser
Some agents open your website in a browser of their own. That browser joins the same visit, so it sees the same cart. It can browse and shop, but it can’t open your dashboard, the login page, account details, saved payment methods or checkout. Instead it sees Your assistant can’t do this here, and the agent gives the customer a checkout link as above.
